Custom Arduino PCB
A custom Arduino-style circuit board that tests power supplies and talks to a gyroscope and OLED display.
Overview
This is a printed circuit board I designed around the ATmega328P, the same microcontroller used on the Arduino Uno. The report below covers the final revision, Board 4. It can also measure the Thevenin resistance of a power supply connected to it.
This page is still being written. The demo video and the full report are below.
What the board does
- Powers from a USB mini connector, a barrel jack or a two-terminal connector, and can switch between them
- Runs an ATmega328P, with a CH340G converting USB to UART
- Has a reset button, an ICSP header for bootloading, and isolation switches for debugging
- Measures the Thevenin resistance of a power supply using a DAC, an op-amp, a MOSFET and an ADC
- Includes a gyroscope and an OLED display on the I2C bus
- Adds LEDs for power, serial activity and blink code, plus a buzzer and test points
